With more news about the film coming up on the horizon, we're now getting our Twitter feed going. This week we're going to start posting weekly quotes from some of the band directors and students who will appear in "The Whole Gritty City". You can see short versions on Twitter, and the full quotes with attributions on our Facebook page.

Last year Jaron "Bear" Williams played a role in HBO's Treme. The young Roots of Music trumpeter featured in The Whole Gritty City played the part of, well, a young trumpeter in a marching band. In the upcoming season Jaron will appear again, and so will Jazz Henry, another member of The Roots of Music featured in our film. This year, in real life, Jaron joins his brother Diggy in The O. Perry Walker High School Marching Band, under the direction of the legendary Wilbert Rawlins Jr. (also featured in our film).
The Whole Gritty City will be released by the end of the coming spring. We'll announce the details as soon as we know.
A big thank you to the Filmwax film series, Adam Schartoff and The Fifth Estate for hosting a very useful feedback screening for The Whole Gritty City rough cut last night. And thanks to those who came and shared your thoughts. Another step in making this an even stronger film.
